This Interboat 16 from 2001 is a compact and accessible sloop, built by Interboat Watersport Schuiten B.V. The boat is 4.80 meters long and 2.05 meters wide, with a draft of 55 cm and an air draft of approximately 80 cm. Thanks to these dimensions, the sloop is extremely suitable for use on inland waters such as lakes, ponds, and rivers. The hull is made of polyester, which contributes to the durability and ease of maintenance of the boat.
The sloop is equipped with a Vetus M2C5 inboard diesel engine with a power of 11 hp. The engine is electrically started and, like the boat, dates from 2001. In 2024, an extensive maintenance service was performed, during which the impeller, oil filter, diesel filter, V-belt, engine oil, gearbox oil, and coolant were replaced. The cooling system was also cleaned, and the engine compartment was cleaned. The fuel tank has a capacity of 25 liters. The engine is operational, and the boat is equipped with two batteries, a battery charger, and a shore power connection.
In the spring of 2024, the underwater ship was thoroughly addressed. The hull was almost completely sanded down, provided with two layers of primer, and then treated with two layers of antifouling. No signs of osmosis were detected. The boat was last taken out of the water for maintenance in 2025.
The Interboat 16 features a wooden steering wheel and an internal steering system with a single rudder. The cockpit is equipped with a red cushion set, which shows discoloration in some places. The floor consists of a removable mat with a custom-made wooden floor in two parts over it. The rope fender is finished with a Turkish knot, which contributes to the classic appearance of the sloop.
For protection against sun and rain, the boat is equipped with a sprayhood with a slanted aft cover, manufactured in 2023 by De Zeilerij from West-Knollendam. The hood is executed in ocean blue/marine with ivory-colored stitching and trim. Additionally, there is a separate bimini available (not original) and a winter cover with wooden poles and elastic bungee cords for attachment to the trailer.
A storage trailer is included with the sloop. This trailer is unbraked, equipped with four rollers, a trailer winch, and a spare wheel. The trailer has always been used for winter storage and is equipped with handy chocks attached to the trailer.
The additional equipment on board includes various handy and essential items for a safe and comfortable voyage. There is a spare battery available, providing extra security during longer trips. Paddles are also included, as well as a boat hook for easy pushing off or pulling in the boat.
For mooring, there are mooring lines available, along with a loose anchor that can be used for temporary anchoring. Flags have also been considered: the Geuzen flag is present, as well as the Dutch flag, although the flagpole is currently broken.
Additionally, the cockpit is equipped with a practical seating area, ideal for relaxation on board. Finally, there are multiple fenders and lines available to prevent damage to the boat and other vessels during docking or undocking.
Various documents are available with the boat, including the original purchase invoice, the purchase agreement, the Interboat 16 owner's manual, and the Vetus operating manual. The VAT has been paid. The construction number is 16321F101.
The sloop comes from the first owner, an enthusiast who used the boat for years for day trips on, among others, the Vinkeveense Plassen and the Vecht. The boat was used for recreational sailing and was stored on land under a winter cover during the winter months. The current owner took over the boat from his father but has decided to sell the sloop due to a lack of personal use.
This Interboat 16 from 2001 is a compact and stable sloop, suitable for pleasure trips on inland waters. The boat is equipped with a reliable diesel engine, extensive equipment, and comes with a storage trailer. Thanks to the low air draft and limited draft, the sloop is widely deployable. The available documentation and maintenance history provide a good picture of the use and technical condition of the boat. An interesting option for those looking for an accessible sloop with character.
