Specifications
Rio 830 Cabin – Polyester Motor Yacht with Spacious Layout and Twin Engines
The Rio 830 Cabin is an Italian-made motor yacht, built in 1989. This model is known for its functional layout, solid polyester construction, and twin engines, making the vessel suitable for both day trips and extended stays on the water. With a length of 9 meters and a width of 3.15 meters, this boat offers ample space for comfortable living on board.
Dimensions and Construction
The hull of the Rio 830 Cabin is made of polyester and features a V-bottom, which enhances its performance at higher speeds and in waves. The draft is 80 cm, making the vessel suitable for various waters, including coastal and inland waters with limited depth. The clearance height is 220 cm, allowing the boat to pass under many bridges on inland waterways. The interior headroom is 190 cm, providing a comfortable living space inside.
Layout and Accommodation
The boat has two separate sleeping quarters, which is rare in this length class. There are a total of four fixed berths. The interior space includes a dining area, a stove, a refrigerator, and hot water. The wet cell is equipped with an electric toilet and an integrated shower. The toilet discharge goes directly into open water.
Engines and Performance
The Rio 830 Cabin is equipped with two Volvo Penta AQAD40B diesel engines, each with a power of 175 hp. Both engines are electrically started and have approximately 1400 operating hours each. The engines are from the same year as the vessel, 1989. The cruising speed is around 30 km/h, with a top speed of about 45 km/h. The fuel tank has a capacity of 500 liters, providing a generous range. The boat is equipped with various instruments, including a fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, and temperature gauge.
Electrical Installation and Power Supply
On board, there are four batteries with a total capacity of 400 Ah. The electrical installation includes a battery charger, alternator, inverter, voltmeter, and a solar panel, contributing to the power supply during extended stays on board without shore power.
Navigation and Equipment
For navigation, a depth gauge is available. The boat is equipped with an electrically operated bilge pump and has an anchor with a chain. Externally, the boat features a canopy, outdoor deck cushions, tarpaulins, a crane/hoist, and a teak deck, providing a comfortable outdoor space. A bow thruster is not present.
Maintenance and Condition
The boat was last taken out of the water for maintenance in 2025, during which antifouling was also applied. No signs of osmosis were detected. A known issue is that the right trim function does not work. The boat is not registered.
Usage and Sailing Area
The current owner has used the boat for day trips, weekend stays, and vacations. The boat has primarily been used at sea, which aligns with the vessel's construction and engine setup.
