This Fellowship 33, built in 1988 by the renowned shipyard Gebroeders de Kloet, is a polyester sailing yacht with an S-shaped hull and tiller steering. The ship is 10.15 meters long, 3.10 meters wide, and has a draft of 1.20 meters. The air draft is approximately 12.50 meters, making the ship suitable for a wide range of inland waters, lakes, and rivers. The Fellowship 33 is designed for comfortable living on board and offers space for four fixed berths, divided between the salon and a separate aft cabin.
The hull is made of polyester, a material known for its durability and low maintenance. The S-shaped hull form contributes to the stability and seaworthiness of the ship. Steering is done via a tiller in the open cockpit. The rudder is single and located under the stern. The side decks are wide, enhancing accessibility and safety on deck.
The interior has been carefully constructed by the first and only owners of the ship. Mahogany wood was chosen, providing a warm and classic appearance. On the starboard side, there is a semi-circular seating area, while a straight bench is placed on the port side. The salon features an L-shaped galley with a four-burner gas stove, refrigerator, and ample cupboard space. The aft cabin offers two berths, and there are two more fixed berths in the forepeak. The boat has a manual toilet with direct discharge to open water. The water tank has a capacity of approximately 200 liters.
The Fellowship 33 is equipped with a Yanmar inboard diesel engine of 34 hp with three cylinders, electrically started. The engine is from the same year as the ship (1988) and is operational. The fuel tank has a capacity of 75 liters. For energy supply, there are two batteries, powered by an alternator, inverter, and a solar panel. Onboard, there is also hot air heating, making the stay on board more pleasant in colder seasons.
The sail plan consists of a mainsail and a genoa, with the genoa equipped with a reefing system. The mast is made of wood, and there is one mast present. The sails are functional and suitable for recreational use. The sailing characteristics of the Fellowship 33 are described as stable, partly due to the hull shape and balanced rigging.
The cockpit is equipped with a sprayhood, cockpit tent, cockpit table, and outdoor deck cushions. For safety, there are pulpit and pushpit seats, a guardrail, and a self-draining cockpit. The deck is partially finished with teak, providing extra grip and a classic appearance. At the rear, there is a swim ladder. For anchoring, there is a manually operated windlass with chain and line.
The Fellowship 33 has always been owned by the current owner, who was also responsible for the construction of the ship. During the winter months, the ship has consistently been taken out of the water and stored in a shed. The last antifouling treatment and maintenance are scheduled for 2025. No signs of osmosis have been detected.
The ship has mainly been used for pleasure cruising and vacations, with trips on inland waters, canals, lakes, ponds, and rivers. The Fellowship 33 is suitable for both short trips and longer stays on board. The ample storage space and layout make the ship suitable for couples or small families who want to sail comfortably.
