The Esso Porta is a distinctive boat with a rich history. Built in 1911 by Boot of Alphen aan den Rijn. It was one of the first bunker boats and has earned a registration in the Register Varend Erfgoed (RVEN). This historic boat has experienced many adventures on inland waterways and has served as a comfortable home and vacation home for its owner.
The Esso Porta is a stemmed stern and is made of ironclad. With a length of 13 meters, a width of 3 meters and a draft of 90 cm, it offers enough space and stability for comfortable cruising and lodging. The vertical clearance of 3 meters makes it possible to pass under many bridges without problems.
Inside the Esso Porta you will find amenities such as a stove, refrigerator, pillows, dining area and mattresses. This makes it a pleasant place to live and vacation. Hot water is available, and the water tank has a capacity of 260 liters. The underwater toilet is manually operated and a heater provides cozy warmth on board, there is also an all-burner for extra comfort during colder seasons.
The boat is powered by a Daf 575 diesel, a 6 cylinder with 120 HP. Good for a top speed of 12 knots. a 100 liter diesel tank fuels the boat for hours of boating fun. An oil pressure gauge, tachometer and temperature gauge provide accurate monitoring of engine performance. The double rudder contributes to the maneuverability of the boat.
There is a marine radio and with the help of an inverter, solar panel and two batteries a 230 v supply. There is a fire extinguisher whose shelf life has to be checked and there is an electric bilge pump.
The Esso Porta has retained its charms despite some minor defects, including a small leak in the wheelhouse and a deteriorated aft deck.
