Kalik 33 – Polyester Sailing Yacht from 1980 Designed by Jan de Ridder
The Kalik 33 is a 9.98-meter-long sailing yacht, designed by the renowned Dutch yacht designer Jan de Ridder and built at the Lewin shipyard in 1980. This model is known for its sporty sailing characteristics and robust construction. The hull is made of polyester (GFK), with a V-bottom and a single rudder operated via a tiller from the cockpit. The air draft is approximately 16 meters, making the vessel suitable for both coastal and inland waters.
With a width of 3.30 meters and a draft of 2 meters, the Kalik 33 offers a stable position in the water. The underwater hull has been sanded and provided with new antifouling in recent years. Some attention is needed for structural build-up, particularly at the transition from hull to keel. No signs of osmosis were found during the last inspection.
The ship weighs approximately 5,000 kg and is delivered without a trailer. The Kalik 33 is currently placed ashore and will be transported to Herkingen for launching upon sale.
Inside, the Kalik 33 offers space for up to six fixed berths, divided over a V-berth in the forepeak, a dog berth, a pilot berth, and two convertible settees in the saloon. The headroom is approximately 1.85 meters. The cushions were renewed in 2021, with the mattresses in the V-berth being particularly comfortable.
The galley is equipped with an oven, refrigerator, and hot water supply (not recently tested). There is an electric toilet system connected to a 40-liter holding tank, preventing direct discharge into open water. The water tank has a capacity of 180 liters. Heating is partially installed but not yet connected.
The Kalik 33 is equipped with a Yanmar 2QM20H diesel engine with a power of 20 hp. The engine was overhauled during the winter period and functions properly. The fuel tank has a capacity of 50 liters. Electrical provisions include two batteries, a battery charger, solar panel, shore power connection, USB ports, and standard 12V connections.
In terms of navigation, the ship is equipped with an autopilot (tiller pilot), depth sounder, GPS, chart plotter, compass, log/speedometer, and wind meter. The available electronics are functional, although of an older date. A VHF radio is present and registered.
The sail plan consists of three sails: a furling genoa from 2023, a storm jib (unused), and an older mainsail with lazy bag. The standing rigging has been recently replaced by a professional company. The running rigging is functional but shows signs of aging. The genoa is equipped with a furling system.
On deck, the ship is equipped with a teak deck, sprayhood, cockpit tent, pulpit and pushpit seats, guardrail, and swim ladder. Two anchors are present. The cockpit is self-draining, and an electric bilge pump is installed. For safety, a lifebuoy and guard lines are included.
The Kalik 33 has mainly been used on the Baltic Sea for pleasure cruising, day trips, and vacations. According to the current owner, the ship is spacious and comfortable, with good sailing characteristics in both light and strong winds. The boat is being sold due to a change in family situation and lack of time for sailing.
Some documents are provided with the ship, including the registration of the VHF radio and an invoice for the recently renewed standing rigging. The boat is not registered.
The Kalik 33 can be viewed on Saturday, September 27, 2025, between 10:00 and 12:00 in Flensburg (Germany). The ship is in the water and is sold under the general terms and conditions of a public auction. There is no right of withdrawal. A berth or winter storage is not included.
