Specifications
Makma Vlet 700 from 1996 – Polyester Sloop with Diesel Engine and Comfortable Cockpit Layout
The Makma Vlet 700 is a classic polyester sloop with a length of 7 meters and a width of 2.65 meters. This vlet, built in 1996 by the renowned Makma shipyard, is designed for comfortable sailing on inland waters, canals, lakes, and rivers. Thanks to its limited clearance height of just 1.05 meters, this boat is particularly suitable for trips in areas with low bridges, such as the Westland and urban waters.
Hull and Construction
The hull of the Makma Vlet 700 is designed in a round bilge shape, which contributes to the stability and sailing behavior of the boat. The material used is polyester, known for its low-maintenance properties. The boat has a draft of 68 cm and a weight of approximately 1300 kg. Steering is done via a tiller, located outside in the cockpit.
Motorization and Technology
The sloop is equipped with a Vetus inboard diesel engine, type M205A103, with a power of 10 hp. This two-cylinder engine is electrically started and dates from the same year as the boat (1996). The fuel tank has a capacity of 25 liters. The engine is equipped with instruments such as an oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge, and tachometer. The electrical installation was renewed in 2024 and consists of two batteries (12V), a battery charger, alternator, shore power connection, and a voltmeter. This allows for sufficient power supply even during longer trips.
Interior and Comfort
The Makma Vlet 700 features a spacious, recessed cockpit in the bow. It is equipped with comfortable cushions and can be transformed into a sunbed using insert boards. The standing height inside is 80 cm. There is a simple cooking appliance available, as well as a water tank with a capacity of 50 liters. Toilet and heating facilities are not present, making this boat especially suitable for day trips and short stays on the water.
Equipment and Accessories
The boat is equipped with various items that contribute to comfort and safety on board. There is a sprayhood and a deck cover, both renewed in 2024. Additionally, a winter tent with a frame is included, providing protection during winter storage. For safety, the boat is equipped with an electric bilge pump, a manual bilge pump, and a fire extinguisher. Fenders, lines, and a swim ladder are also present. The dashboard is prepared for connecting navigation equipment and charging mobile devices.
Maintenance and Use
The boat was overhauled in 2023 and fitted with new electrical components in 2024, including a renewed dashboard, bilge pump, and water pump. The antifouling treatment and the last maintenance out of the water are scheduled for 2025. No signs of osmosis have been detected. The boat is not registered, but the VAT has been paid. Documentation in the form of a purchase agreement is available.
History and Sailing Area
The current owner has owned the boat for three years and has mainly used it for recreational sailing in South Holland, particularly in the Westland. The previous owner used the sloop for family outings. The boat is suitable for various purposes such as day trips, pleasure cruising, vacations, and weekend getaways. Thanks to the low clearance height, it is possible to sail under bridges without much delay, significantly expanding the sailing area.
