The Mulder & Rijke Ribsea 700 is a 7-meter-long rigid inflatable boat (RIB), built in 1999 by the renowned Dutch shipyard Mulder & Rijke. This robust boat is designed with seaworthiness, stability, and maneuverability in mind and was originally used by the Dutch military. The hull is made of polyester and equipped with heavy-duty tubes, which are surrounded by foam rubber for protection against cuts and punctures. Additionally, the hull is Lloyd's registered under number AMS 9902500.
With a length of 7.00 meters, a width of 2.60 meters, and a draft of only 45 centimeters, the RIB is excellently suited for shallow waters such as canals, ditches, and lakes, as well as rivers and coastal areas. Thanks to the jet drive, the boat is extremely maneuverable, even when stationary. The clearance height of 2.40 meters allows it to pass under low bridges, while the interior standing height of 2.10 meters provides sufficient comfort for taller users.
The propulsion consists of a powerful Yanmar 4LHA-STP inboard diesel engine with a turbo, delivering 240 hp, coupled with a Hamilton jet. This combination ensures exceptional maneuverability, rapid acceleration, and safe sailing characteristics, even in shallow water. The cruising speed is approximately 35 km/h, and the top speed is around 58 km/h. The engine is electrically started and connected to the chart plotters via the NMEA2000 network, making engine data and navigation information clearly and integrally available.
The RIB is equipped with an extensive navigation and electronics system, including two Garmin GPSMAP chart plotters with BlueChart G3 Benelux maps, an Icom AIS transponder and VHF radio, a depth meter, compass, log and speedometer, as well as GPS position and tracking. There are also various engine and system meters, such as a fuel gauge, oil pressure and temperature gauge, tachometer (calibration desired), and meters for battery voltage and charging voltage. For lighting, there is both interior LED lighting and four powerful exterior LED spotlights and an LED bar, and the audio system is enhanced by a radio with a Hertz subwoofer.
The electrical system includes both 12V and 220V connections, powered by two batteries (for starting and consumption) with a total capacity of 180 Ah. A battery charger, alternator, and inverter from 12V to 230V provide the power supply. Additionally, there are two bilge pumps, one manual and one automatic.
In terms of comfort and equipment, the boat features a bimini, which provides protection from the sun. The cockpit is self-draining, contributing to safety and ease of maintenance. A braked road trailer from the brand Wick (built in 2008) is included with the boat. This dual-axle trailer with four rollers and a trailer winch measures 600x250 cm. The road trailer is not equipped with a license plate.
The RIB is registered as a fast motorboat with the RDW under number 4-YG-984. The hull drawings are available. The boat was last treated with antifouling in 2024.
After its military service, the boat was converted for recreational use. Since then, it has been used for pleasure boating, sports activities, and weekend trips. The jet drive offers clear advantages for water sports enthusiasts and makes the boat suitable for a variety of sailing conditions. The current owner indicates that the boat is rarely used, which is the reason for the sale.
The Mulder & Rijke Ribsea 700 is a solid, versatile, and technically well-equipped RIB. Thanks to its powerful diesel engine, jet drive, and extensive navigation equipment, this boat is ideal for both recreational and professional use. The combination of stability, speed, and maneuverability makes it particularly suitable for adventurous sailors and water sports enthusiasts looking for reliability and performance in one vessel.
