The Dinghy Dot is a charming cabin sailing sloop with a rich history and timeless character. With a length of 5.35 meters and a width of 2.33 meters, she offers a comfortable space for two people to enjoy relaxing sailing trips.
Her wooden hull, with a traditional round bilge shape, demonstrates craftsmanship and durability. Steered with a tiller from the outside, she is easy to maneuver even for the less experienced sailor. The single rudder ensures a steady course on the water. Inside, the accommodation offers a warm and classic atmosphere, with comfortable mattresses and a simple stove for preparing meals on board. The presence of a gel toilet makes longer trips more comfortable. The water tank has a capacity of 40 liters and the toilet does not discharge directly into the open water.
The Dinghy Dot is powered by a 10-hp Volvo Penta MD6B engine, which was installed in 1986 and overhauled in 2009. With a maximum speed of 9 mph, she offers reliable propulsion for both sailing and motoring.
Her electronics and navigation include an original Volvo Penta dashboard, compass and VHF radio, and with two batteries on board, a battery charger and several connection options for electricity, she is well equipped for longer trips.
The rigging includes a wooden mast and three sails - a mainsail, a jib and a jib - all in fair condition. Outside, she is equipped with a cockpit tent, fenders and lines for safety and comfort while mooring, as well as a cork deck for a classic look and extra grip.
For safety, there is an electric bilge pump. Despite some minor flaws, such as the need for underwater ship maintenance, the Dinghy Dot is a reliable companion for adventures on the water.
