This Van De Stadt Sea Dog 29 was self-built from the hull up and completely finished in 2019. Only sailed a few times since then, so still completely in new condition and fully sail-ready. The boat consists of a wood epoxy hull with a permateak (teak) deck. This in combination with the color scheme, the wood / brass protective edge and the cable fender gives the boat a classic but fresh look. The cockpit is spacious because of the size and because the landing for the spray hood is located. The spray hood is completely cleaned before the sale, the invoice of this maintenance is still present. The sail wardrobe consists of a mainsail and genoa. All lines can be operated from the cockpit.
For tensioning the halyards, this boat is equipped with Easylock halyard stoppers and Harken 8 winches in the cabin (under the spray hood). For the Genoa sheets, two Harken 40ST winches are placed on the cockpit edges. In the cockpit on port side is a very spacious cockpit. To starboard there is a spacious dog cage under the cockpit. The wet room with manual toilet is located on the starboard side. The galley which is equipped with a 2 burner stove, a refrigerator with cooling engine and a sink are all located on the port side of the ship. The cover plates for the cockpit are present, these should have been covered with permateek.
The Van De Stadt is equipped with a Volvo Penta MD2b diesel engine with 25hp. The engine is well maintained (in the water and winter service) impeller and various filters always received on time and provided with fresh oil every year. The propulsion goes through a monoshift gearbox. The engine is fully operable with the engine control. The 12V electrical system consists of two batteries, a starter battery and a light battery for the other systems. These batteries are charged via a Mastervolt battery charger.
The marine telephone, navtex and GPS are all of the Furuno brand. The DSC marine telephone is connected to the GPS. The sailing equipment is the three ST60 Raymarine systems. Autopilot, depth sounder and wind vane. The autopilot is not connected yet (waiting for the upholstery of the cockpit seats). The salon consists of two sofas and a table, in the front of the boat there is a 2 person bed. The dog cage can also be used as a sleeping place. Documentation of the engine and electrical equipment is (digital) available. Because the boat is self-built, there is a lot of background information available on design choices and state of the technology.
