The Lemster Sea Cruiser is a beautifully lined, classic steel S-frame designed by H. Lemstra. The small sailing cruisers of 8 to 9 meters were very popular in the 50s and 60s. Designers threw themselves massively into these size boats. Wood construction became too expensive, so steel got the upper hand, which was further stimulated by the application of electric welding. This allowed structures to be made simpler and cheaper. Steel S-beams developed excellently and became more and more beautiful in line. Don't forget that all these ships were handmade piece by piece! The boat has been out of the water for maintenance all these years and could use some finishing inside.
Amaltheia is a Lemster Sea Cruiser of 30 ft long, with pierced rudder with yacht fence and equipped with a wooden boom which adorns a classic ship. She is also equipped with a Volvo MD11, 23 hp. This runs like a charm.
