The Symplexus 21 is a historic classic cabin yacht. The boat was built in 1965 according to the original drawing of the famous boat designer Gipon. The current owner bought the boat in 1968 and is in possession of that original drawing of the boat. The Symplexus 231 is always well maintained and is in good condition.
Building materials:
- Keel beam of construction
- Skeleton and superstructure of oak
- Bonding of mahogany (22 mm thick)
- Deck of pine and waterproof lacquered masonite with non-slip pad.
Everything is copper nailed and copper/stainless steel screwed.
Mast: hollow pine 5x stowed, easy to iron with a buck leg; straight gaff; boom (pitch pine); and 4x stowed bowpriet (pine).
Engine: the Symplexus 21 has a quiet 10HP 4 stroke Honda outboard engine with hand start in neatly concealed invisible bun. The boat is equipped with convenient controls from the cockpit. There is a separate 20 litre tank. The boat is on the engine very maneuverable in forward and reverse. The engine charges a 12 Volt battery for pump and lighting.
Sailing: Large gaff sail with reefing line + jib and jib. All sails made of classic brown synthetic cotton with copper fittings (2 years old). There is also an older but cool storm jib present. The total surface area of the sails is approx 22 m2. The boat is slightly inquisitive and well balanced with the sails. Hoisting and lowering the sails can be done entirely from the cockpit. This makes the Symlexus 21 easy to sail alone. In the cockpit there are two benches with removable leather upholstery, with enough space underneath to store things.
Cabin: No headroom but room for cozy sitting and sleeping for 2 to 3 people. The boat is equipped with a non gas stove (2 burners). Gas bottle in cupboard on deck, two small clothing cupboards, pantry, kitchen drawers, stainless steel sink with tap and toilet cabinets, plastic water tank with electric pump under the cockpit decks. In front portapotty (toilet) and place to store the sails. The boat has its own stamps for winter storage.
In short, the Symplexus 21 is a very complete and well maintained cabin yacht that is very suitable for fun day trips or weekends on the water.
