The Phantom 34 is a sturdy and robust boat that was built in classic style under our own management at the time. The ship sails fine. The rigging has been chosen for safety and is therefore carefully rigged. Partly because of the equipment, the yacht is very suitable for longer trips and stray sails. The yacht is seaworthy, despite several experiences at sea never had water in the cockpit. The yacht is admitted to the Dutch Classis Yacht Regatta which has been sailed several times. The yacht has an IRC, an International Rating Certificate that is issued through the Watersport Association for participation in competitions.
The interior has been designed with plenty of storage space for long journeys. The ship is well insulated in the cabin in view of cold regions so no condensation. The interior is a beautiful classic paneling. The extra 2 berths can be made by lowering the table in the seating area to create a large double bed.
The yacht is fully equipped for solo sailing. The yacht has a cutterstay with which a (storm) jib can be hoisted which is self-tacking with a short jib. A separate ironing line has been made for the jib on the cutterstay. The rigging is arranged in such a way that all sails can be operated from the cockpit, including the mainsail via the furling system around the jib. The genoa or the separate jib can be easily set and lowered with the furling jib system of furlex.
For the navigation on the one hand we use charts and navigation tools and on the other hand we use electronic navigation with the Stentec programmes such as WinGPS Voyager. Voyage planning and logging with the laptop and sailing with the tablet. We work with a multplexer, an electronic distribution unit that links all information together and makes it available on the laptop. On the yacht there are several connections for 12 volts and 220 v. There is a separate display to see the navigation data from the cockpit.
There is a railingnet available. Especially for safety an extra railing of tubes around the pipe cover has been made. Particularly pleasant to use. The dinghy can be hung on the davits. Extremely practical. In winter the yacht is protected with tarpaulins. The mast can be lowered . This can also be done electrically. There is a pulley system to do it manually.
In 2019 the engine had to be replaced. Works very well. Recently a bow spotlight has been installed. The ship is in excellent condition and is ready to sail. The complete furnishing such as mattresses, bedding, kitchen equipment etc. and technical spare material is included with the purchase of the ship. Due to the special and classic character it is offered to a future owner to get used to sailing together.
