The Bob Sloepen Explorer 1100 is a remarkably young, custom-built launch from 2023 that invites you to head straight out onto the water. She combines a sturdy aluminium chine hull with a luxurious appearance and a layout suited both to relaxed cruising and more sporty outings with friends or family. At 11.00 metres in length and 3.55 metres in beam, the Explorer 1100 feels spacious on board, while her air draft of approximately 1.85 metres also makes her suitable for routes with bridges on inland waters, canals and waterways. This Bob Sloepen has been used by her first owner and was always kept in a boathouse, which is appealing to anyone who values a well-maintained presentation and a boat that has been stored under cover.
Please note: the air draft has been adjusted to 1.85 metres.
She is designed to be more than just a day boat. In the bow there is a comfortable cabin with ample storage space and a built-in sink with running water. The table has an electric pedestal, allowing the seating area to be easily converted into a berth. This gives the boat two permanent berths, with the option of creating two additional berths—ideal for a spontaneous weekend away on the lakes or a peaceful overnight stay alongside a jetty. Hot water, a shower and an electric toilet make staying on board even more comfortable, especially when using her as a weekender launch.
The 300 hp Mercury V8 outboard motor (built in 2023) gives this fast launch the character many water sports enthusiasts are looking for: brisk acceleration, comfortable cruising on larger waters and relaxed manoeuvring in harbours and narrow passages. Steering is via a wheel from an exterior helm position, which suits the open launch experience perfectly. For additional control, she is equipped with a 3.9 kW Vetus proportional electric bow thruster, making mooring and turning in confined spaces less daunting. With a 400-litre fuel tank, she also offers a comfortable range for longer days on the water.
The cockpit has a typical launch layout with a complete wraparound seating area, allowing a larger group to sit, socialise and dine in comfort. There is plenty of storage beneath the benches, with the cooling facilities smartly integrated, including a refrigerator and freezer compartment. An additional convenience is the large cool box installed in the engine box, a space where a diesel engine would often be located in other configurations. This keeps drinks and refreshments within easy reach on warm days. By sliding out the cool box, a small staircase provides access to the technical space, making the entire arrangement well thought-out and functional.
She has shore power and a battery charger, with a total of three batteries on board. For those who like to remain at anchor for longer periods, a Honda EU30iS generator is included, allowing continued use of the electrical facilities away from the harbour. Navigation is clear and straightforward with GPS and a chartplotter, complemented by a depth sounder. The instruments, including tachometer, temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge and fuel tank gauge, provide clear information while underway. On deck, she is equipped with a bimini for shade, a swimming platform and swim ladder for easy access to the water, as well as fenders and mooring lines. The self-draining cockpit and electric bilge pump contribute to peace of mind on board.
The Bob Sloepen Explorer 1100 is built in 5 mm aluminium and weighs approximately 4,500 kg. Her combination of luxury launch, sporty performance and weekender comfort makes her appealing for a wide range of boating plans: from a day on the lakes and rivers to relaxed overnight stays. Anyone looking for a modern aluminium launch with a 300 hp Mercury, bow thruster, generator and smart layout will find this Explorer 1100 an attractive candidate in the BoatAuction sale.
