Specifications
Hull motor cruiser 900 – steel cruiser with character
This Motor Cruiser 900 is a steel motor cruiser of approximately 9.00 metres long and 2.70 metres wide, with a draught of around 0.80 metres. She was built for Dutch inland waters: lakes, rivers and canals where a compact cruiser with a “standing headroom feel” and a practical layout is often just right. The boat is offered as a discontinued project, which makes her especially interesting for the hands-on boater who likes to roll up their sleeves and finish their own cruising dream step by step. Anyone searching for a “9 metre steel motor cruiser”, “motor cruiser project boat” or “Motor Cruiser 900 for sale” will find in this lot an honest starting point with clear points of attention.
Inside, she is fitted out with a dinette, a cooker and a refrigerator. Mattresses are present and the number of berths is practical: two fixed berths and two additional berths, making a weekend away for two—or with family or friends—possible once the fit-out is completed. The toilet is manual and the toilet discharge goes directly overboard; please note that rules and preferences differ per cruising area, and converting to another solution may be a logical next step for some buyers.
Motor Cruiser 900 now in the online auction. Everyone can bid up to and including 24 August 2026.
What kind of boat is this Motor Cruiser 900?
The Motor Cruiser 900 is a classic steel cruiser with manageable dimensions and a weight of approximately 6,000 kg. She is intended as a comfortable inland-water boat, with enough space to stay on board and overnight. Thanks to her steel hull she appeals to enthusiasts who appreciate the look and solid feel of steel, and who understand that steel requires attention to corrosion protection and paintwork. This boat is clearly not a ready-to-go turn-key cruiser, but a base to build on.
What has already been done and what still needs to be done?
According to the consignor, this is a discontinued project. Welding work has been carried out below the waterline, while the exterior still needs painting and the interior joinery still needs to be finished. This means she offers opportunities for someone who wants to decide the finishing themselves—from paint system and colour scheme to interior layout and material choices. At the same time, this requires realistic planning, time and budget. The boat was last taken out of the water for maintenance in 2026, which for a project boat is an important moment to address the underside and properly assess the current condition.
What about the engine and technical systems?
She has one diesel inboard engine with electric start. The operation of the engine is unknown, which deserves extra attention for an auction lot like this. For buyers searching for “diesel inboard motor cruiser” or “project boat with diesel engine”, this is something to factor into the valuation: plan on checking the fuel system, cooling and electrical installation, and allow room for possible work before she can cruise reliably again. On board there are instruments such as a fuel tank gauge and temperature gauge.
Electrically, she is set up with 12V and 220V, including shore power, a battery charger, voltmeter and a solar panel. One battery is present. This is a pleasant basis for staying on board, especially if you later want to expand with additional battery capacity or more modern energy storage, depending on your cruising style and mooring situation.
Is she suitable for weekend trips and overnight stays?
Yes, in principle. With a dinette, cooker, refrigerator and berths, the layout is aimed at staying on board. The mattresses provided help to quickly create a usable sleeping area, although the final comfort will strongly depend on how you complete the joinery and finishing. Anyone dreaming of quiet evenings on the lake or a multi-day river trip can create a personal and practical layout with this steel cruiser.
This Motor Cruiser 900 is being auctioned via BoatAuction and is therefore an attractive option for buyers deliberately looking for a steel motor cruiser as a project, with room to finish her to their own taste. She invites renewed attention so that she can soon do what she was built for again: cruising, staying aboard and making memories on inland waters.
