Specifications
Cabin Sailboat 650 – Polyester Cabin Sailboat with Outboard Motor
The Cabin Sailboat 650 is a compact sailboat with a length of 6.50 meters and a width of 2.50 meters. These dimensions make the boat suitable for use on inland waters, canals, ditches, lakes, ponds, and rivers. The boat is made of polyester, a commonly used material in recreational boating due to its strength and relatively low maintenance level. The draft of 75 centimeters allows for navigation in shallower waters, making the boat versatile for various sailing areas.
Construction and Design
The hull of the Cabin Sailboat 650 is constructed from polyester, contributing to the vessel's rigidity and durability. The boat features a cabin, providing extra shelter while sailing and the possibility to stay on board for short periods. The layout of the cabin is not specified, but typically, this type of boat has space for basic amenities such as seating and storage.
The boat is equipped with a mast and sail, indicating some rigging. However, the completeness of the rigging is not confirmed, meaning additional checks or supplements may be necessary for sailing use. The boat is not registered, and there is no information available about the year of construction.
Motorization
The Cabin Sailboat 650 is equipped with an outboard motor from the brand Mariner. It is a hand-started gasoline engine with a power of 4 hp. The year of manufacture of the motor is unknown, and its operation is not currently verified. This means the motor may need to be checked or overhauled before it can be used. The motor is suitable for use on calm inland waters and provides assistance in maneuvering or sailing in calm conditions.
Maintenance and Condition
There is no recent information available on when the boat was last taken out of the water for maintenance or when the last antifouling treatment was performed. The current condition of the boat is described as fair, which means there may be maintenance or equipment issues that need attention. According to the seller, the boat is due for maintenance, which can range from cosmetic improvements to technical inspections.
Usage and Sailing Experience
The boat has been used in the past for recreational boating and day trips. Due to its dimensions and equipment, the Cabin Sailboat 650 is suitable for recreational use on sheltered waters. The combination of sail and motor propulsion allows for navigation using either wind power or engine power, depending on the conditions.
Summary
The Cabin Sailboat 650 offers a foundation for sailing enjoyment on inland waters. With a polyester hull, a 4 hp outboard motor, and an existing mast and sail, the vessel is suitable for recreational use. The state of maintenance and the completeness of the rigging require attention, as does the inspection of the motor. For those interested in a project or an entry-level model in the cabin sailboat class, this boat could be an option, provided there is a willingness for inspection and potential repair.
