Specifications
This cabin sailboat 650 is a compact sailboat with a length of 6.50 meters and a width of 1.40 meters. The boat is made of polyester, a commonly used material in recreational boating due to its strength and relatively low maintenance level. The boat features a tiller steering located outside, which is typical for this type of sailboat. The rudder is single.
The boat is currently not registered, and no trailer is included in the sale. The boat is offered without a mast and without rigging, which means it is not currently ready to sail. However, this offers opportunities for buyers looking for a project boat or a hull that can be customized or modified to their liking.
Suitable for Inland Waters
According to the available information, this cabin sailboat has mainly been used on inland waters such as canals, ditches, lakes, ponds, and rivers. This makes the boat suitable for leisurely trips and recreational use on sheltered waters. The shallow draft of 75 cm allows it to navigate shallower waters, increasing its versatility.
About the Condition of the Boat
The boat is in a condition that requires attention. There is no recent information available about maintenance, antifouling treatments, or when the boat was last taken out of the water. Potential buyers should take this into account and are advised to thoroughly inspect the boat before purchase. The boat has been seized by Waternet enforcement, and there is no further information available about the history or use of the boat.
Opportunities for Refitting or Restoration
Since the boat is offered without a mast and rigging, it is particularly interesting for DIY enthusiasts or boat restoration lovers. The polyester hull provides a solid foundation for rebuilding or converting into a motorboat or day sailer, depending on the new owner's preferences. The absence of rigging also offers the opportunity to determine what type of sail plan or mast configuration to apply.
Usage and Sailing Experience
The boat has previously been used for recreational boating and day trips, indicating a layout suitable for short stays on board. The cabin offers shelter and possibly sleeping space for one or two people, depending on the arrangement. The tiller steering on the outside provides direct control over the rudder, contributing to a simple and intuitive sailing experience.
Conclusion
This cabin sailboat 650 offers a foundation for those looking for a project boat or a hull to build upon according to their own insights. Due to the absence of rigging and the unknown maintenance history, it is important to technically assess the boat before proceeding with the purchase. The boat is suitable for use on inland waters and offers opportunities for recreational use after potential modifications or restoration.
