Catamaran "VLOTTER" is a 1992 Kellycat 37 (architect Derek Kelsall) in sandwich polyester. The hulls were built in England and then expertly finished in Germany and very fully equipped by the first owner.
The centrally retractable daggerboard can automatically swing away in case of stuck sailing. Central rudder that can be raised horizontally.
The boat floats in 80 cm of water. Reliable and strong seaworthy sailboat, suitable and equipped for long trips and stay on board. Steady course, so little work for the autopilot. Cruising speed 5 to 7 knots.
The current owners bought the boat in 2004 and did a thorough refit on the outside in 2006-2007 and then further equipped.
In 2017 again tackled: including the blanking of the underwater hull (up to the gelcoat) and for the second time application of epoxy primer and Coppercoat. Very complete and working rigging and sailing equipment, navigation instruments, heating, 2 cool boxes, 2 toilets and sinks, 3 cabins with double bed, spacious and cozy central deck saloon with beautiful view, workshop, lots of work and spare material, galley rigging, 3 water tanks, 200 W. solar panels,
The Catamaran is equipped with a Ford Thornycroft engine 55 hp (1992) with 2 hydraulic drives, well maintained, 1650 hours. Genoa still workable but somewhat out of sail. All other sails in good to very good condition. Some halyards need to be replaced. Light wear of anti-slip mats and very local (aesthetic) wear of the paint and underlying putty layer. There is an extensive technical documentation and detailed manual available. The boat is ready to sail.
As a result of the planned sale, the boat was put aside again in early July for general inspection of the underwater hull and replacement of the shaft bearings and shaft seals. The Coppercoat itself is in good condition but there were scattered underlying blisters. Probably the result of delayed effect of the epoxy coating applied to the gelcoat in 2017. But the beginning of osmosis cannot be excluded. See also the photos. (More photos available).
A beautiful ship with which you can make many long trips or live on for a longer time.
