Specifications
This retro-shaped Farsund is a very maneuverable and comfortable sailing sloop. In 2020 a major refurbishment was started in which the boat was almost completely emptied and for a large part re-upholstered. The cabin is partly removed whereby the window rubbers are replaced and the whole inside and outside is repainted. New kabelaring. New tarpaulin and new cushions. In 2021 the superstructure and inside was painted again. Engine (BMW 1-cylinder 10hp) was overhauled in July: new starter motor, new alternator, impeller and exhaust replaced, wiring partly replaced. So most of the work is done and the boat sails fine now. There are still a few things to be done to finish the boat off: - replace automatic gearbox: there is an old automatic gearbox on the boat that switches rather stiffly - the woodwork under the front seats is old and not yet painted and there is a rotten piece of wood under the seats that needs to be replaced - last month there was a small leak in the hull: the bottom of one of the transverse planks hit a pointed object on a jetty causing a hole of half a cm diameter. This has been repaired, but still needs to be repainted, the damage is not visible.
