NJORD The beautiful Njord - registered as sailing heritage. Classic spitsgatskotter of riveted steel was built in 1934 by Gebroeders van Grevenstein in IJsselmonde to a Norwegian design with original copper work. Has won many prizes and competitions, including Delfzijl - Borkum and has sailed many times on the Dutch and German Wadden Sea. A ship with a rich history (see magazine Zeilen aug.'05 and Scherp Gesneden (VKSJ) in april '21). Neat condition and is very complete.
Known defects: The Njord is well maintained with some age-related imperfections. Full service in 2014 (completely varnished/painted, rust removed and putty where needed). Subsequently, annual check-up of varnish and paintwork and adjustment where necessary. Some rust spots present on hull and under gunwale. Next project in the maintenance plan is the repainting of the mast.
