Sea Ray 265 Sundancer (2020) – sporty cruiser with comfort for weekends and holidays
The 2020 Sea Ray 265 Sundancer is a popular sport cruiser for boating enthusiasts looking for an agile boat with the comfort of a compact cabin cruiser. With a length of 7.27 metres and a beam of 2.53 metres, this model offers a well-balanced combination of performance, living space and ease of use. The GRP hull with deep-V bottom is designed to cut smoothly through the water and provides a stable, comfortable ride on both lakes and at sea. Thanks to an air draft of approx. 1.70 metres, the boat is also well suited to cruising areas with bridges and canals, while the draft of around 1.85 metres matches the character of a powerful inboard sport cruiser.
Sea Ray 265 Sundancer now in the online auction. Anyone can bid up to and including 20 April 2026.
Performance and handling with MerCruiser 6.2L MPI (300 hp)
This Sea Ray 265 Sundancer is powered by a MerCruiser 6.2L MPI petrol engine producing 300 hp (model year 2020) with approximately 150 engine hours. This setup is known for its immediate throttle response and lively handling, in line with the sporty DNA of the Sundancer range. The deep-V hull contributes to excellent tracking and smooth wave absorption, which is especially noticeable on open water and coastal areas. Trim tabs are fitted to optimise running angle under varying loads and conditions, helping the boat get on plane more efficiently and comfortably. In harbour and during docking, the electric bow thruster helps you manoeuvre with control, even in wind or with a smaller crew.
Helm station and navigation: clear overview and control
The helm of the Sea Ray 265 Sundancer is designed for all-round visibility and intuitive operation, supporting relaxed cruising on day trips and longer journeys. On board is a Simrad GPS electronics package, complemented by GPS, fishfinder and log/speedometer. This makes it easy to plan routes, monitor speed and depth, and explore new cruising areas with confidence. For entertainment, a Fusion stereo is installed, keeping the cockpit a pleasant place to relax at anchor or in the marina.
Cockpit and outdoor living: teak, table and swim platform
A key advantage of this type of Sea Ray is the spacious cockpit, inviting you to spend long days on the water. The cockpit table makes it easy to enjoy lunch or drinks outside, while the exterior cushions provide comfort underway and at rest. The teak finish in the cockpit and on the swim platform gives the boat a warm, nautical look and matches the premium character of the 265 Sundancer. At the stern there is a swim platform with swim ladder—ideal for swimming, SUP, or reboarding after watersports. For shelter and overnighting on board, both a camper canvas and a harbour cover are included, allowing you to adapt the cockpit to weather and use.
Interior and accommodation: smart layout with 4 fixed berths
Despite its compact exterior dimensions, the interior is efficiently laid out for multi-day stays. With an interior headroom of approx. 2.00 metres, the cabin feels surprisingly spacious for this class. There are four fixed berths, typically divided between a comfortable forward area and an additional sleeping space aft, making weekend trips with family or friends very feasible. The dinette offers a pleasant place to sit inside when the weather turns, and the air conditioning increases comfort during warm days and nights.
Galley and sanitary facilities: practical for short cruises
For those who enjoy independent cruising and don’t want to eat ashore every day, the galley is equipped with, among other things, a microwave and an oven, complemented by mattresses suited to the overnighting character of this cruiser. The water tank has a capacity of approx. 106 litres, which is practical for several days of use. The sanitary system is configured so that toilet discharge is not released directly into open water, aligning with regulations and expectations in many cruising areas and marinas.
Equipment and technology: anchoring, power supply and safety
On deck, an anchor is present and anchoring is supported by a (hydraulic) windlass. This makes it easier to choose a nice anchorage for a lunch stop or an overnight stay in a bay. The electric bilge pump contributes to basic onboard safety. The electrical system is 12V and fitted with a battery charger, making time aboard in the marina or at the dock more comfortable.
