Hellwig 600 now in the online auction. Everyone can bid until November 24, 2025.
Construction and Materials
The hull of the Hellwig 600 is made of polyester, a commonly used material in recreational boating due to its low-maintenance properties and durability. The cabin is equipped with plastic windows, contributing to the boat's light weight and allowing bright light into the cabin. The open stern is reinforced with an aluminum plate, intended for the attachment of an outboard motor. This construction allows for the installation of a motor of approximately 60 hp, providing sufficient power for recreational use on inland waters.
History and Use
The Hellwig 600 has previously sailed on waters in the Ghent-Terneuzen region. The boat was once registered in the Netherlands but is currently not registered. According to the current owner, the boat has mainly been used for day trips, recreational boating, and sporting purposes. The shallow draft makes the vessel particularly suitable for narrow and shallow waterways, increasing the range of possible sailing areas.
Technical Condition and Maintenance
The boat is currently on dry land and has not been recently taken out of the water for maintenance. There is no information available about the last antifouling treatment. According to the seller, there are no signs of osmosis present. The general condition of the boat is described as reasonable. No known defects have been reported, but given the age of the vessel, an inspection is recommended to obtain a current view of the technical condition.
Trailer and Transport Options
A trailer without a license plate is included with the Hellwig 600. The trailer is equipped with a trailer winch and has an estimated weight of 700 kg. The condition of the trailer is also described as reasonable. The year of manufacture of the trailer is unknown. The presence of a trailer makes transporting and storing the boat easier, which can be an advantage for owners who wish to use the boat in different locations.
Interior and Layout
The cabin provides shelter and basic comfort for short stays on board. The layout is simple, with enough space for day use. The open stern provides a direct connection to the water, facilitating boarding and supporting the use of the outboard motor. The combination of a closed cabin and an open aft deck makes the Hellwig 600 suitable for various weather conditions and usage situations.
Application Possibilities
The Hellwig 600 is designed for recreational use on inland waters. The boat is suitable for day trips, sporty outings, and relaxed recreational boating. Due to the limited draft, the vessel can be used on waters where larger boats cannot go. This makes the Hellwig 600 an option for those looking for a compact cabin cruiser with a functional layout and a wide range of navigable areas.
Summary
The Hellwig 600 from 1995 is a polyester cabin cruiser with an open stern, suitable for mounting an outboard motor. The boat is designed for use on inland waters and offers space for day trips and recreational use. The included trailer facilitates transport and storage. Although the boat is currently not registered and no recent maintenance data is available, the vessel provides a basis for further personalization or restoration. The Hellwig 600 is thus an option for water sports enthusiasts looking for a compact cabin cruiser with potential for various applications.
