The Lotus 760 is very suitable for sea voyages. The current owners have used the boat for holidays along the English East and Southeast coast and have also sailed to the coast of Normandy. The boat is equipped with a Lowrance chart plotter with map of Europe and an external GPS connected to an NMEA 2000 network. This also includes the Lowrance link 8 marine radio. The VHF contains an AIS receiver. The entire electrical system will be rebuilt in 2018. The log is an Easylog from Nasa, which works on the GPS data of the plotter (via NMEA 0183). The solar panel is connected to a regulator that takes care of charging the light battery. All lighting: two colours on the pulpit, fence light, three colour lights in the mast and top light are in LED.
The mainsail is relatively recent. The Genoa has recently been given a major maintenance overhaul. The storm jib is of very good quality and has never been used. There is also a high aspect jib and a working jib. At the moment there is a dry toilet on the boat. This will probably be replaced by a chemical toilet or underwater toilet. The toilet space has been converted into closet space, but can of course be made into a toilet again.
The Lotus 760 is in used condition. The hull is painted in Sept. 2020 and is of very good quality. The underwater hull is put in the antifouling in September 2020. The deck has been given a layer of paint but can still be touched up. The engine atomizer needs maintenance. The compression of the engine is good and starts immediately. In line with the age of the engine there is also some talk of sweating some oil. However, the engine itself uses little or no oil. In short, the Lotus 760 is a good boat which is very suitable for seagoing trips when it gets some attention.
