In the auction a very beautiful, authentic Hasselter Aak, built in 1916 at Barkmeijer in Stroobosch. It is an old cargo ship with 33 tons of cargo capacity. In the past this boat transported various cargoes. Today it is mainly used for pleasure cruising or a weekend trip, because there is room enough for a large family to stay.
The ship has been restored with great care. There are still a few small things that need to be completed in the deckhouse. The new doors are ready, but need to be finished. The panelling at the back has been removed due to welding work. You can reupholster it to your own taste. The Hasselter Aak is a handy sailing ship that is easy to handle by someone with some experience. Because of the bow thruster the ship is easy to maneuver in difficult waters and locks. The mast is currently stored dry in storage.
The boat was last out of the water for maintenance and antifouling in 2020.
