In the worldwide class structure for one-man boats there was until ten years ago a big hole above the Optimist. Especially for this category of sailors, from 12 to 21 years, there was no suitable follow-up boat to find with sufficient performance. This has changed with the Splash. The Splash was developed from ideas by Roel Wester - himself a multiple champion in several one-man classes - and by the internationally recognized designer Koos de Ridder.
