The ARPAD is a classic sailing boat of the Unterelbe brand, model 950, with a rich history. With a length of 950 cm, a width of 300 cm and a draft of 100 cm, this boat offers a spacious and stable experience on the water.
Built in the year 1970 and made of sturdy steel, the ARPAD has a timeless look that has accompanied many generations of sailors. With a vertical clearance of 230 cm, the boat is suitable for sailing under bridges and low-slung structures.
The boat's interior offers comfortable sleeping arrangements for 4 people, with additional capacity for an additional 2 berths. The spacious living area includes a dining area, comfortable mattresses and pillows, a fully equipped stove and oven. In addition, the ARPAD features a hot water system for crew comfort during longer trips. The water tank has a capacity of 200 liters and there is a separate tank for waste water with a capacity of 300 liters. For convenience, there is a manual toilet on board.
The vessel is powered by a reliable Mercedes OM 636 diesel engine with 40 hp, which starts electrically. With a maximum speed of 10 km/hour, the engine provides enough power for both quiet trips and some faster navigation. The engine has been well maintained and has a total running hours of 1127 hours since its construction in 1968.
Onboard navigation equipment is extensive and includes an autopilot, depth sounder, chart plotter, radar, VHF radio, AIS, fishfinder, GPS and wind meter. This equipment helps the captain navigate safely and be aware of the environment regardless of weather conditions.
The ARPAD has an aluminum mast and comes with two sails in good condition, making sailing fun.
The boat's deck is well equipped with two anchors and a chain link, a swim platform, davits and a cockpit table for outdoor activities.
Safety equipment is on board, including fire extinguishers and a life buoy. A manual bilge pump is available in case water needs to be pumped out.
Although the boat has had some minor defects in the past, these are known and can be addressed. The boat was taken out of the water for maintenance in 2021 and also underwent an antifouling treatment at that time.
