Specifications
The Byvind is a Marieholm 32 sailboat with a length of 975 cm, a width of 300 cm and a draft of 155 cm. It is a polyester sailboat that was built in 1976. There are also navigational instruments such as a voltmeter and a fuel tank gauge. The electrical system includes a battery charger, inverter, solar panel, shore power connection and alternator.
The engine needs some attention, but is fully functional. Engine emits some white smoke, but does not consume oil. Engine had started after winter with no problems, a test drive was done this spring. Vibration of the engine is a little too high, engine mounts should be replaced soon.
The engine itself is old, but it has been well taken care of for the past 4 seasons. We would recommend changing the oil before leaving.
Other mechanical parts are good - gearbox, propeller shaft are in good condition.
The boat must leave Norway before the end of August as the permit to keep the boat in Norway expires.
The boat has a single aluminum mast and comes with two sails in reasonable condition. However, the mainsail needs to be replaced. There are also twin forestays, a bowsprit, a manual windlass and a Furlex furling system for the genoa forestay.
On deck, there is a sprayhood, fenders and lines, swim ladder, cockpit table and swim platform. A Zodiac dinghy is also provided, but there is no outboard motor.
As for safety, the boat is equipped with a fire extinguisher and a life raft. An EPIRB is present and was serviced in 2023, but the life raft has yet to be inspected. There is a manual bilge pump on board.
