Specifications
This wooden cabin sailing sloop was built in 1928. Its dimensions are LOD is 5.35m. LOA: 6,72m. Minimum headroom: 1,20 without mast approx. 1,45m with mast lowered.
Headroom standing mast 7,10m. The sloop is made of pine on oak riveted with copper. Supposedly built in the 1930s in Denmark as an open sailing sloop. A so-called quay point, freely translated a "Kadeloper". This type of vessel sailed ahead of a sailing freighter to organize goods on the quay before the arrival of the mother ship in order to be able to load faster and continue the journey. Specially designed for the short waves of the East and North Sea.
HISTORY
- Built circa 1928
- In 1962, this former workboat was converted into a pleasure yacht with mahogany cabin, equipped with engine and deck at a yacht yard in Hindelopen.
- In the construction, the then prevailing classical design principles were applied.
- In the late 1980s the current Volvo Penta diesel was installed and overhauled in 2009.
- From 2008-2010, the wooden hull was completely restored in similar types of wood and made breathable again.
- The Interior, deck and cockpit have also been completely refinished using waterproof mahogany plywood (treated with West-system epoxy coating) and solid oak-with-mahogany moldings.
- The deck is laid with Marine cork 2000
This small sloop is in good condition; a fine sailor, even by one person. More importantly, a wonderful vacation boat for 2 people.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- The boat has had major maintenance in winter season 2019-2020 : new oak fender, batteries replaced and a new starter motor installed.
- The boat is not registered
