This Friendship comes from enforcement action at the marina. No further information about her history is available from the marina. She is being offered as a project boat and requires attention to maintenance and further inspection. Her condition is described as reasonable. The boat was last taken out of the water in 2026. No information is available about a recent antifouling treatment.
Friendship 26 now in the online auction. Everyone can place a bid until 19 October 2026.
What makes this Friendship 26 interesting?
The boat offers a combination of sailing characteristics, living space and manageable dimensions. Her fixed berths make longer stays on board possible, while her size means she remains suitable for various Dutch waterways. The Friendship 26 may be of interest to you if you are looking for an affordable starting point for your own maintenance, improvements and use on inland waters.
An aluminium mast with two sails is present on board. The sails are in reasonable condition. Their exact age and maintenance history are not known. Anyone planning to use this boat would be well advised to carefully inspect the mast, rigging, sails and deck hardware before taking her onto the water.
What is the engine configuration?
The Friendship 26 has a single Volvo Penta inboard engine with electric start. The engine’s operation is unknown. No information is available about the year of manufacture, power output, number of operating hours or previous work carried out. During the viewing day, you can inspect the engine compartment and the installation present. A technical assessment by an expert may be important before making a decision.
Since its operation has not been verified, you should allow for possible maintenance to the engine, fuel system, electrical installation, cooling system and controls. The engine must therefore not be considered ready for use without further inspection. This is an important point to consider if you intend to buy this boat for regular use.
What equipment is present on board?
For navigation, she is equipped with a compass and an autopilot. The operation and condition of this equipment have not been further established. There is also one anchor with chain and line. Fenders and lines are available for use on board.
The toilet is manually operated. The toilet outlet discharges directly into open water. This means that, when using it, you must take the applicable regulations and the practical consequences of this configuration into account. The other technical installations have not been fully described. During the viewing day, you can establish for yourself which equipment is present and how the components have been installed.
Is this boat suitable for longer trips?
The Friendship 26 can be used for leisure boating, day trips on the water, weekend cruises and simple holidays. Her fixed berths for two people provide a basic level of accommodation on board. At the same time, it is important to assess her current condition realistically. The boat is being offered as a project boat and no documentation is available.
Before undertaking longer trips, the engine, hull, through-hull fittings, electrical installation, rigging, sails, seacocks and safety equipment should be inspected, among other things. The presence and condition of fire extinguishers, lifesaving equipment and navigation lights also deserve attention. Suitability for a particular trip depends on the outcome of these inspections and on the maintenance you are prepared to carry out.
What should you look out for when buying?
When buying a second-hand boat, it is advisable not to focus solely on the asking price and appearance. With this Friendship 26, the unknown engine operation, lack of documentation and stated maintenance requirements deserve particular attention. During the viewing day, inspect the hull, deck, cabin, mast step, rigging and the inside of the boat.
The condition of the sails, lines, anchoring equipment and technical installations is also relevant. If you have little experience with boats, it may be wise to bring someone with technical knowledge. Anyone looking for tips on buying a boat would do well to prepare their own checklist in advance and inspect the boat calmly and carefully.
Who is this boat suitable for?
This Friendship 26 is suited to someone who wants to carry out work themselves and improve an existing sailboat step by step. She may be of interest to a hands-on watersports enthusiast looking for a boat for inland waters and willing to invest time in inspection, maintenance and further preparation. The boat requires a realistic assessment and an appropriate maintenance budget.
If you want to buy a boat without carrying out any work yourself, this offering may be less suitable for you. It may, however, be of interest if you are not put off by a project and would like to create your own base for recreational boating. The viewing day provides an opportunity to see her condition, layout and equipment for yourself.
What can you expect during the viewing day?
There is one viewing day during which you can inspect the Friendship 26. At this time, you can assess her general condition, inspect the equipment present and determine which work you believe is required. Since no documentation is available, it is important to make your own careful notes and ask questions about visible components in good time.
The information provided is based on the data available for this boat. Not all details are known and the operation of various components has not been established. You should therefore inspect her carefully and take her maintenance requirements into account when making your decision. This will give you an honest picture of what this Friendship 26 can offer you.
