is this wooden sailing boat ready for immediate use?
wullie is ready for new voyages and offers her next owner the opportunity to get straight out on the water. During the recent period, work has been carried out on several important points. in 2026, the standing rigging was renewed, the windows were replaced and the underwater hull was treated. antifouling was also applied that year. these works contribute to a good start to the new sailing season.
the sails are in excellent condition and are virtually new. this suits the sporty character of the waarschip 725 well. she can therefore be sailed efficiently and offers plenty of opportunity to actively work with sail trim and course. whether it is an afternoon on the lake, a coastal trip or a longer holiday, this classic sailing boat invites you to discover her under sail.
what is the condition of the teak deck on the waarschip 725?
the teak deck has been fully sanded, re-oiled and re-caulked. as a result, the deck once again has a neat and warm appearance. several soft spots in the deck were repaired in the summer of 2025. one softer spot remains in the cockpit and will require attention in due course. in addition, several soft spots are known to exist between the teak deck and the boat’s ceiling. these points are important to take into account when assessing the boat and offer scope for further improvement by a capable owner.
the deck complements the boat’s classic appearance and gives her an authentic nautical character. anyone who enjoys maintenance and woodworking can further refine the waarschip 725 in these areas according to their own preferences. the basis for an atmospheric and appealing wooden sailing boat is clearly present.
which engine does she have on board?
wullie is equipped with an older but functioning inboard engine. as is usual with an engine of this age, it requires regular maintenance, inspection and attention. the engine is practical for manoeuvring in the harbour, in light winds and when docking. a prospective buyer would be wise to assess its operation and maintenance history thoroughly during a viewing and sea trial.
the engine therefore complements her sailing capabilities, but it is primarily her sailing characteristics that make this waarschip 725 attractive. under sail, her sporty design comes fully into its own, allowing her crew to experience the character for which this type of sailing boat is known.
how is the interior laid out?
the interior is finished atmospherically in wood and complements the classic character of this wooden cabin sailboat beautifully. the cabin provides a sheltered place to relax, spend the night and remain comfortable on board in less favourable weather. the available headroom of approximately 1.50 metres is appropriate for a boat of this size.
the woodwork could use some attention in a few places. this makes her interesting for someone who enjoys gradually restoring and improving a boat. with time, care and personal choices, the interior can be given an even more individual atmosphere. the warm wooden finish provides an attractive foundation for this.
who is this waarschip 725 suitable for?
this waarschip 725 is suitable for an enthusiast looking for a classic, sporty sailing boat with a recognisable dutch character. she will appeal to someone who values wood, traditional lines and active sailing, but who is also not deterred by the work associated with a boat of her age. thanks to her dimensions, she is straightforward to sail and practical to use, while offering sufficient comfort for a relaxing stay on board during holidays.
wullie is being sold because her current owners have moved on to a larger sailing boat. they are therefore looking for a new owner who will appreciate her qualities and give her further attention. this waarschip 725 combines recent upgrades, an attractive teak deck, excellent sails and an atmospheric interior with the charm of a classic wooden boat. she is an inviting choice for anyone looking for a waarschip 725 for sale and wanting to begin new sailing adventures straight away.
