Specifications
steel cargo push barge sb521 from 1970
Anyone looking for a robust steel cargo push barge with a clear history and practical dimensions will find the cargo push barge SB521 an interesting lot. She was built in 1970 by J.H. van Eyck en Zn and was designed for commercial use. The vessel is configured as a push barge, meaning she has no onboard propulsion or steering. Precisely for that reason, she can be deployed for various purposes, depending on your plans and the configuration with a push boat or towing service.
With her length of 19.30 metres and beam of 4.87 metres, the SB521 offers a convenient working platform and a cargo space suitable for transport, storage, or project-based use on the water. Her draught of approximately 1.15 metres makes her suitable for a wide range of inland waterways, although actual suitability naturally depends on loading, cruising area, and local requirements. The hull is steel— a material that has been valued in commercial shipping for decades for its practical properties and the possibilities for modification and repair.
cargo push barge SB521 now in the online auction. everyone can bid up to and including 18 May 2026.
what type of vessel is the SB521 exactly?
The SB521 is a cargo push barge: a work vessel intended to be pushed or towed. She has no rudder, no helm station, and no steering system on board. This makes her ideally suited as a barge in a push convoy, but also as a pontoon-like work barge for temporary projects, a floating storage platform, or support for works along quays and banks. Anyone searching for terms such as buy steel push barge, cargo push barge for sale, or 19-metre push barge will quickly come across this type of vessel.
which dimensions and characteristics are important to know?
This steel push barge measures 19.30 metres in length and 4.87 metres in beam. Her draught is stated as 1.15 metres. This combination provides a stable base and a size that is practical in many inland shipping contexts, both for transport and for work purposes. Because she has been used as a commercial vessel, it is logical that the emphasis is on functionality and deployability.
what documentation is available with this barge?
For this cargo push barge SB521, documentation is available in the form of an SI certificate, and mention is made of a measurement certificate (meetbrief) and SI certificate. For buyers who value paperwork and identification, this is an important starting point. Documentation can help when assessing specifications and when arranging any inspections or procedures that fit your intended use. It is wise to clarify in advance which documents you need for your cruising area and application, so you can proceed efficiently after the auction.
when was she last out of the water?
According to the information provided, the vessel was last taken out of the water for maintenance in 2019. This is often relevant for interested parties who want to estimate when a next inspection or yard period would be sensible. No last antifouling treatment is stated. For a steel inland push barge, the approach can differ per intended use: one buyer may want to deploy her directly in a work project, while another buyer will first set up a technical inspection and preservation plan. In both cases, the year 2019 provides a concrete reference point for your own planning.
who is this steel cargo push barge interesting for?
The SB521 will mainly appeal to buyers looking for a functional steel push barge for commercial use, or those who need a work platform on the water. Think of contractors, hydraulic engineering, port-related activities, or parties seeking a floating storage solution. This type of vessel can also be interesting for anyone wanting to convert a barge to a specific application, precisely because she is set up in a straightforward, purpose-driven way. Her dimensions also make her manageable within a professional framework—provided you have the right towing or pushing capacity.
