The Bruijs Vlet 970 is a characteristic steel motor vlet from 1968 with a length of 9.70 meters and a width of 3.45 meters. This vlet is built with a chine hull and has an air draft of 2.40 meters, making it suitable for a wide range of inland waters, including canals, lakes, ponds, and rivers. Thanks to the relatively shallow draft of 1.10 meters, it is also possible to navigate shallower waters.
Inside, the Bruijs Vlet 970 offers a headroom of 2.00 meters, providing a comfortable living space, even for taller passengers. The boat features a practical layout with a dining area, sleeping accommodation for four people (two fixed and two additional berths), and various amenities for longer stays onboard. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, oven, refrigerator, and freezer. Mattresses are provided, as well as a manual toilet. The toilet discharge is directly connected to open water.
For comfort during cooler days, there is a hot air heating system. The water tank has a capacity of 400 liters, which is sufficient for multi-day trips.
The vlet is powered by an inboard DAF575 diesel engine with a power output of 105 hp. This six-cylinder engine is electrically started and has approximately 5,250 operating hours. The engine is operational, and the fuel consumption is around 3 liters per hour. The diesel tank has a capacity of 300 liters. The boat is equipped with various measuring instruments, including a fuel tank gauge, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge, and tachometer.
For extra maneuverability, there is an electric bow thruster. The electrical installation consists of three batteries with a total capacity of 2x200 Ah, a battery charger, alternator, inverter, voltmeter, shore power connection, and a solar panel. The onboard voltage is 12V, 24V, and 220V. A Bosch generator is also present.
In terms of navigation, the boat is equipped with a depth sounder and a VHF radio. For anchoring, there is a manually operated anchor winch with a chain. The exterior equipment includes a deck cover, fenders, lines, and a swim ladder. The cockpit is self-draining, which contributes to onboard safety.
The boat was painted in 2024 and fitted with new cockpit covers. In 2025, the fuel tanks were cleaned, and an antifouling treatment was carried out. The boat is reportedly ready for use. The last time the boat was taken out of the water for maintenance was also in 2025.
The Bruijs Vlet 970 weighs approximately 9,000 kg and comes with various extras, including buckets, a lazy jack, boat hook, two jerry cans, a small oven, ropes, and fenders. No additional documentation is available. The current owner is the third owner of the vessel and has used the boat for day trips, vacations, and weekend stays.
This Bruijs Vlet 970 is a classically lined vessel with a spacious layout and functional equipment, suitable for both short trips and longer stays on the water.
