The Doerak 650 is a well-known sight on the Dutch inland waterways. This specific model, built in 1971 by the renowned Eista shipyard in Nederhemert, is a steel motorboat with a length of 6.50 meters and a width of 2.73 meters. Thanks to its flat bottom and the absence of side decks, this Doerak offers surprisingly ample interior space, enhancing onboard comfort. The cabin has a headroom of 1.92 meters, which is relatively spacious for a boat of this size.
The Doerak 650 is designed with practicality and comfort for two people in mind. The cabin is broadly laid out and features a dining area, a small kitchen with a stove and refrigerator, and a manual toilet. The benches in the cabin can easily be converted into a spacious single bed, and there is plenty of storage space under the benches and in the cabinets. The cockpit tent extends the living space, which is especially handy in changing weather conditions or when extra sleeping space is needed, for example, for children.
The boat is equipped with a Yanmar 3YM20 inboard diesel engine from 2017. This engine has three cylinders, a power of 20 hp, and is electrically started. The engine has approximately 705 operating hours and consumes an average of 1.5 liters of diesel per hour. The fuel tank has a capacity of 60 liters. The cruising speed is around 10 km/h, with a maximum speed of about 14 km/h. The engine is equipped with instruments such as a fuel tank gauge and a tachometer.
Onboard, there is an electrical installation that includes a battery charger, alternator, inverter, voltmeter, shore power connection, and a solar panel. There is one battery onboard with a total capacity of 145Ah. These facilities allow for some time of independent sailing and staying without shore power.
The steering of the Doerak 650 is done via a steering wheel in the open cockpit. The boat is equipped with a single rudder and, due to its compact size and flat bottom, is easy to maneuver, even in busy harbors or narrow canals. The clearance height is 2.30 meters, making the boat suitable for a large part of the Dutch sailing area, including low bridges. The draft is limited to 60 cm, making the boat suitable for shallow waters such as ditches, lakes, and smaller ponds.
The exterior equipment includes a cockpit tent and a swim ladder. For anchoring, there is an anchor with chain and line available. The boat has a manual toilet installation that discharges directly into the surface water. For safety, there is a lifebuoy onboard. A bilge pump is not present. The boat is delivered without a trailer.
The last time the boat was taken out of the water for maintenance and antifouling was in 2020. There are some known points of paint maintenance. The boat is not registered, but the VAT has been paid. The weight of the boat is approximately 3,000 kg.
The Doerak 650 has been used in the past for pleasure cruising, day trips, and vacations. The boat has sailed on various inland waters, including canals, lakes, ponds, and rivers in the Netherlands and Germany. A notable voyage was from Lemmer to Berlin, where the boat proved to be a stable and comfortable vessel, even on larger waters.
This Doerak 650 offers a combination of practical layout, ample interior space, and a reliable engine installation. The boat is suitable for two people and provides sufficient comfort for longer stays onboard. Thanks to the low clearance height and shallow draft, the sailing area is very extensive. The Doerak 650 is a well-known classic among Dutch motorboats and offers an accessible way to get on the water. The current inventory, tools, and spare parts are included in the sale.
