The Colvic Atlanta 31 completed a 1,000 nautical mile voyage from the west coast of Scotland in 2019 and performed perfectly throughout the voyage. The ability to steer from the heated wheelhouse or the deep outer cockpit makes this boat pleasant to sail. The boat has an Eberspacher heating system, a hot water boiler that runs on 230V shore power or from the engine. This steering is executed with loose cables so you are always in control, but should something go wrong there is an emergency tiller that fits directly on the rudder stock. In the wheelhouse there is an L-shaped galley which makes preparing meals at sea very easy. There is a gimbled Nelson Spinflo. 2 burner, grill and oven gas stove from 2006.
The Colvic Atlanta 31 is special because it has a very reliable and easy to maintain Lister-Petter Alpha 40 engine with only 1100 running hours. There is a fuel cleaning system, a recently replaced Hurth-ZF gerabox and double stainless steel fuel tanks with a capacity of 450 litres. This boat has a huge engine range (about 500 nautical miles). The boat is equipped with 4 berths with 2 berths in the forward point and 2 in the saloon. The interior is fresh and all fabrics have been renewed in recent years.
The rigging of the Colvic Atlanta 31 is in excellent condition and has new sail covers. Included are the mainsail, mizzen, furling jib and a storm jib. The electronics are very complete with radar, navtex, AIS receiver, autopilot, depth, log, wind speed, GPS, VHF and 2 compasses.
The Colvic Atlanta 31 has a number of maintenance requirements: the boat needs a wash because it has been out of the water since December 2019, teak upholstery in the cockpit needs to be replaced, some clamps in the cockpit need replacing, the boat needs to be thoroughly antifouled again, windows in the wheelhouse need to be removed and silicone seals need to be re-applied because they are dried out (they are waterproof, but a job for the future). Once these minimum maintenance requirements are resolved the boat will be in perfect condition again and the Colvic Atlanta 31 is well suited for long sea voyages.
