The Motorboat 1200 is a steel motorboat from 1969 with a length of 12.50 metres and a beam of 3.20 metres. This hard-chine hull provides stable positioning in the water and is suitable for various inland waterways such as canals, lakes and rivers. The boat is equipped with an inboard diesel engine from Perkins, type 4.270, with an output of 90 hp. This four-cylinder engine is electrically started and dates from the 1990s. Cruising speed is approximately 15 kilometres per hour, making the boat suitable for relaxed trips and recreational use.
The hull of the Motorboat 1200 is made of steel, contributing to the vessel’s robustness. Draft is 85 centimetres, making the boat suitable for shallower waters. Air draft is approximately 2.50 metres, allowing the boat to pass under most bridges. Inside, headroom is about 1.90 metres, providing sufficient freedom of movement in the interior.
The layout is focused on comfort and functionality. There is a separate bedroom with two fixed berths. In addition, the dinette can be converted into two extra berths, bringing the total to four. The galley is equipped with a two-burner gas stove and a refrigerator. Two gas bottles are present, one in use and one empty. The toilet compartment has a manual toilet that discharges directly into open water.
The electrical system consists of three batteries with a total capacity of more than 400 Ah. On-board voltage is 12V and 220V. For power supply there are two solar panels with a combined output of approximately 400 watts. In addition, there is a battery charger, a 2500W inverter and a shore power connection. On-board instruments include a fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge and tachometer. The oil gauge is currently not connected optimally.
The Motorboat 1200 features dual helm stations, meaning the boat can be steered both from inside and outside. Steering is via a wheel and there is one rudder. The boat is manoeuvrable and offers a calm ride, contributing to comfort during longer trips or when manoeuvring in narrow waterways.
On deck, the boat is fitted with various equipment items such as a manual anchor winch, two anchors with chain and line, davits, fenders, lines, guardrails, a swim platform and a swim ladder. A small tender is included: a rowing dinghy mainly used for maintenance work. For safety, there is a lifebuoy, fire extinguisher, smoke detector, CO2 detector and an electric bilge pump on board.
The boat was last taken out of the water in 2021, when antifouling was also applied. There are a few known points of attention, such as leakage along two windows during rainfall and some unfinished trim/finishing work. Limited documentation is available and will be included with the sale. This boat is not registered in the Netherlands.
The current owner acquired the boat from a family who built the superstructure themselves. The boat has been used for various purposes such as day trips, holidays, weekend stays and even as temporary living accommodation. The spacious layout and stable handling make the Motorboat 1200 suitable for a wide range of leisure boating.
The Motorboat 1200 is a steel motorboat with a classic appearance and a functional layout. With a reliable diesel engine, generous living space and various on-board amenities, this boat offers opportunities for recreational use on inland waterways. The combination of practical equipment, dual steering and robust construction makes this vessel suitable for both short outings and longer stays on board.
