Specifications
Dufour Safari 27 from 1985 – Sailboat with Functional Equipment and Wind Generator
The Dufour Safari 27 is a French-made sailing yacht, designed for comfortable sailing on inland waters and lakes. This particular model, built in 1985, has a length of 8.23 meters, a width of 2.79 meters, and a draft of 1.32 meters. The hull is made of polyester, contributing to a relatively low weight of 2,694 kg. VAT has been paid.
Interior and Accommodation
Inside, the Dufour Safari 27 offers a headroom of 1.90 meters, providing ample freedom of movement. The boat has two fixed berths, suitable for short to medium stays on board. The accommodation includes a dining area, mattresses, a refrigerator, a microwave, and an oven. A chemical toilet is present, which has not yet been used. The toilet discharge is not directly connected to open water, in line with environmental regulations on many inland waters.
Engine and Propulsion
Propulsion is provided by a BMW inboard diesel engine with one cylinder. The engine is electrically started and operational. The fuel tank has a capacity of 10 liters, sufficient for short motor distances or as support when maneuvering in harbors. Steering is done via a tiller, located in the cockpit, and the rudder is single.
Sailing Equipment
The Dufour Safari 27 is equipped with an aluminum mast and has two sails: a mainsail and a genoa. The foresail is equipped with a furling system, which facilitates reefing and rolling. The condition of the sails is described as reasonable, indicating they are functional but may show signs of use. The boat is suitable for recreational sailing on inland waters and lakes.
Power Supply and Equipment
A notable feature of this boat is the presence of an Air Marine 400W wind generator, which contributes to the onboard power supply. This allows for the use of electrical appliances or charging of the onboard batteries without shore power. The batteries have been recently replaced.
On deck, the boat is equipped with a bimini, providing protection against sun and rain. A swim platform at the rear facilitates water access. For anchoring, there is a manual anchor winch, with an anchor attached to a combination of chain and line.
Maintenance and Documentation
According to the report, the boat was last taken out of the water for maintenance in 2025, during which a new layer of antifouling was applied. This contributes to the protection of the hull against fouling. Documentation is available in the form of a sales contract.
Safety
For safety, a liferaft is on board. This is an important element for those planning longer trips or sailing on larger lakes.
