The Sneekermeer 800, built in 1980 by Jachtwerf Moedt and designed by R. Moedt, is a robust steel cabin sailboat 8 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, with a draft of 1.1 meters and a headroom of 1.85 meters. This maintained boat offers two permanent and two additional berths with a headroom of 1.88 meters. The vessel is equipped with a 13 hp Yanmar 2GM diesel engine, an electric starting system and a 40 liter fuel tank. The boat has a comprehensive electrical system with 12V and 220V, although one of the two batteries fluctuates voltage and is probably faulty.
The rigging includes an aluminum mast and three sails (mainsail, genoa and storm jib) in fair condition. The boat has an A-frame that allows the mast to be easily lowered by one person, as well as a spinnaker boom. Deck equipment includes an anchor with chain and line, swim ladder, sea railing, fenders and lines, and a winter deck tarp.
Safety features include a self-draining cockpit and a manual bilge pump. The cabin was insulated and fitted with a stainless steel sink with new valve in 2023. The interior offers seat cushions and mattresses.
The boat has been maintained, with the last service in the winter of 2023/24 and an antifouling treatment in the spring of 2024. The owner has maintained the maintenance history himself. Despite a few electrical problems offers stable and enjoyable cruising on inland waterways, lakes, rivers and seas.
