The Soling is a strong ship developed for all winds and conditions at sea. Fitness and teamwork are essential to sailing a Soling well. The boats are made of polyester and the spars of an aluminum alloy.
A Soling lasts a very long time. Even as a racing ship, it stays in shape for a long time. In 2009, a 30 year old ship achieved 7th place in the World Cup.
Typical for the Soling is "droop-hiking", a technique of hanging outside to make the ship sail flat.
The operation of the engine is unfortunately unknown. There is also no check if the rigging is complete.
