Specifications
The Catharina is a sailboat of the brand Dufour and the type Arpège. The year of construction of the boat is 1972, and it has a polyester hull. With a length of 9.2 meters, a width of 3 meters and a draft of 140 centimeters, the boat offers enough space and stability while sailing.
The Dufour has a headroom of 12.5 mete, which means it is suitable for most inland waterways and coastal areas. The interior headroom is 1.8 meters, providing comfortable room to move around in the accommodation.
The Catharina sleeps 5 people in fixed beds. The accommodation is equipped with an oven, dining area, mattresses, curtains and a stove. The toilet is manual with a direct drain to the open water.
The boat is powered by a working Volvo Penta MD7A engine with an output of 13 hp. The engine is electrically started and runs on diesel. The maximum speed of the boat is about 12 km. The fuel tank has a capacity of 90 liters and fuel consumption is about 1 liter per hour.
As for electronics and navigation, the boat is equipped with various devices, including a compass, depth sounder, autopilot, radar, VHF radio, log speedometer and GPS. Sea charts of Western Europe are also provided.
The Catharina's rigging consists of one mast made of aluminum and three sails: mainsail, genoa and spinnaker. The headsail is equipped with a furling system, but there is a known defect where the drum of the furling system has jammed and needs to be reattached.
The boat has various equipment including anchors, a spray hood, pulpit and stern chairs, a swim ladder, a cockpit table, outdoor cushions, sea railing, fenders and lines.
As for safety, lifebuoys, a fire extinguisher, a self-draining cockpit and life jackets are provided. The electric bilge pump takes care of removing water from the boat's hold.
Overall, the boat is in great condition, with only a few minor flaws. The boat was recently taken out of the water for maintenance in May 2023, including an antifouling treatment.
